SD Vietnam is run by volunteers who assist those in need with activities such as paying visits, providing donations, support or gifts. In 2007 SD Vietnam supported:

• destitute people of the Binh Phuoc province
• Le Minh Xuan psychiatric hospital
• defoliation child victims in Thanh My Tay village, Duc Hue district, Long An province
• the kitchen of the hospital of Duc Pho district
• the Kim Chi Home of Love of the Long Thanh Pagoda, Thu Thua district, Long An province
• the hospital for children victims of cancer
• the Hoang Mai special school, Tran Dinh Xu school, Tan An Hoi school
• the victims of storms and floods in Central Viet Nam in the Vinh Nghiem Temple
• a needy pupil who is working very well at school and has lost both arms in an accident
• the hospital for children who are victims of cancer
