Heidi Hitchcock from Victoria BC was SD Canada's delegate to the SDIA meeting in Colombia in July 2008.
SD Canada was created as a charitable, non-profit organization in 1985 to support the social and humanitarian efforts of Subud members in Canada and around the world.  It is associated with Subud Canada, is run by a volunteer Board and focuses on raising funds for its partner projects, educating Canadians about development issues and engaging youth in development activities.

With an annual budget of between $30,000-$40,000 SD Canada participates in the international SD network and partners to support the following projects in 2008:
  • Semillitas Amanecer, Colombia
  • Child's Garden of Peace, Brazil
  • SD Projects in Cuba
  • Tierraviva, Argentina
  • YUM Women to Women Microcredit and Education program, Indonesia
  • Anh Linh School, Vietnam
  • Abandoned Children's Project, Romania
  • Anisha Foundation, India
  • Caribbean Emergency Fund
  • Elegance Clinic, D.R. Congo
