SD Canada was created as a charitable, non-profit organization in 1985 to support the social and humanitarian efforts of Subud members and their associates in Canada and around the world.  It is affiliated with Subud Canada, is run by a volunteer Board and focuses on raising funds for its partner projects, educating Canadians about global development issues and engaging youth in development activities.

With an annual budget of between $30,000-$40,000 SD Canada participates in the international SD network and will support the following project partners in 2009 with grants between $1500 and $5,000:
  • Semillitas Amanecer, Colombia
  • SD Project activities in Cuba
  • Tierraviva, Argentina
  • YUM Cipanas Children's  Village, Indonesia
  • Yaysan Tambuhak Sinta Scholarship Fund, Indonesia
  • Anh Linh School, Vietnam
  • Abandoned Children's Project, Romania
  • Ecole Lemba Imbu, D.R. Congo
  • Yodigo Pilot Literacy Project, India.

SD Canada also raises donations for an unallocated Project Fund in order to meet unexpected requests that may come in during the year.  More details about SD Canada's activities can be found in the annual reports below.
